"Photography, for me, works best when telling a story. Why is this particular scene unfolding as it is? Why is there an object out of place–apropos of nothing? Why is the horizon on fire? I really don't care to know the answers. The conclusions we bring to the table, of our own making, influenced by our loves, fears,  politics, mass media, etc.,are so far richer than what is processed and poured into our consciousness."

Born and raised on military installations in America and overseas during the height of the Cold War, Mr. Knox assimilated quite well into the civilian population in the 1980's. Although he is on record stating that much of the late 70's is a blur with little or no recollection of people, places or events, there is no solid evidence to support the various conspiracy theories which continue to circulate about his "lost years".
